Treasure Hunt is an excellent game for speaking and listening! Based on the old Battleship game concept, players try to locate their opponent’s treasure chest while trying to avoid sharks and pirates. Included are two game boards in color and black and white, instructions, plus a PowerPoint file for customizing the boards.
There are two types of game boards. The larger-squared game board allows students to write whole words in each square. The smaller-squared game board can be used to spell out words with one letter per square. Without seeing their opponent’s game board, players must ask and answer specific questions to locate their opponent’s treasure, e.g., “What is on 5?” “A shark!” “Is there anything on 2?” No, there isn’t.”
Blank game boards offer teachers the flexibility to adapt this game to lessons being taught. The game boards and pieces are in color and black & white. The print-ready pdf file includes two versions of the Treasure Hunt game boards, board pieces, and instructions.
